About A1 Shapeners

My name is Martin Prior and I am based in the Batheaston (a few miles to the east of Bath).  I’ve been sharpening Knives and all types of saws and tools for the last 4 years.  It’s all I do and I love it.

I specialize in all types of Clipper Blade sharpening (Horse, Dog and Barbers) and everything else from Kitchen knives to Chainsaws.  I can sharpen anything that’s blunt!

Working from my local workshop in Batheaston I offer a while-you-wait service by appointment, or you can drop off your items and pick them up later.

I take great pride in my work and I strive to return your item in a condition that is better than new.  Some items I can even take from new and make sharper and better.

I messaged A1 regards sharpening some kitchen knives. They were of reasonable quality and I have looked after them and sharpened them myself.

I must say I have never had knives so sharp –  I could not believe how sharp they are.

I would recommend anyone to use this rather unique service…  Highly recommended and very knowledgeable information regards looking after your sharp knives.

Steve

Thank you Martin for a fantastic, efficient service!

The same-day turnaround was brilliant and at a very reasonable price. My blades are now cutting like new!

I will definitely recommend A1 Sharpeners and be using you again.

I contacted Martin to ask about clipper sharpening. Sharpened 3 sets while I waited.

What a service – no hassle with driving a distance or having to send them away.
